PlayStation 3 Soon to Get Cross Game Voice Chat
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, the latest adventure starring Nathan Drake created by Naughty Dog and published by Sony, has been making the news lately on account of its beautiful graphics, intense firefights and interesting plot. Unfortunately for the developers, Sony might send them to the doghouse for a day or two because, again, they made news by confirming that the PlayStation 3 home gaming console is set to get cross videogames voice chat before the end of the year.
A developer who has worked on Uncharted 2 has posted on the official PlayStation blog using the handle ReklissAbandon, answering a question from a player about spectating in multiplayer matches and the unfair advantage that communicating with active players might give, that “Not to mention that the next PS3 firmware update is going to allow cross game chat. So if players use that instead of in-game communication then they would also be able to communicate enemies positions.”
Sony has already hinted at the fact that the next firmware update for the PS3 was set to arrive before the end of 2009, so it's not pretty sure that players will be able to enjoy the new feature for the titles arriving just in time for Christmas.
